My law enforcement experience spans over 36 years, of which 23 years were spent conducting criminal, civil, and administrative investigations. While employed with the Fresno County Sheriffs Office, I was assigned to the Robbery Homicide Division where I was chief investigator on over fifty homicide cases. During my tenure at the Fresno County District Attorneys Office, I aided prosecutors in homicide, robbery, and fraud cases as a member of the felony trial team. My investigations at the DAs Office included officer involved shootings and employee misconduct cases. In 2007 I was promoted to Chief of Investigations at the Fresno County District Attorneys Office where I was placed in charge of the Investigative Bureau, which consisted of over fifty sworn peace officers. I retired from the Fresno County District Attorneys Office as Chief in 2011.

In addition to my law enforcement expertise, my public service experience spans nearly two decades. As a former member of the Kings Canyon Unified School District Board of Trustees, my colleagues and I worked on policy, budget, and personnel issues that affected the over 40,000 people who lived in the Reedley, Orange Cove, and surrounding mountain communities. In 2008 I was elected to a four-year term on Reedley City Council where I had the privilege to serve the city of Reedley as Mayor Pro Tem for one year. I am currently a board member of Community Youth Ministries (CYM). Our mission at CYM is to serve and meet the social needs of our community’s youth through teen mentoring, parenting classes, and after-school programs.
